BLHS social studies teacher Erin Reichert has been awarded the prestigious Milken Educators Award.

The Home-Grown Hero Award was presented to St. Helena Elementary prekindergarten teacher and alumna Merriam Browne.

The Service to the Community Award was given to Angela Byrne, a teacher at Broad River, and her husband Lt. Daniel Byrne for developing emergency situation trauma kits.

The World Impact Award was given to art students and teachers from Bluffton, Hilton Head and May River high schools for their work with the Memory Project.

The Spirit of Success award was given to Ivan Collier after working through hardships and setbacks to turn his life around. He’s back on track for a successful future.
