April 21 bond referendum
The Beaufort County Board of Education has voted to hold a county-wide bond referendum on April 21, 2018 aimed at adding classroom space to address student enrollment growth in the southern part of the county.  If county voters approve, general obligation bonds not to exceed $76 million would be used to build additional classrooms at River Ridge Academy and May River High School, a new school in Bluffton and new Career and Technical Education buildings at Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head Island high schools similar to current facilities at Battery Creek and May River high schools.  Additional information on the April 21 referendum will be posted to this page as it becomes available.
