Our Planning Process

BCSD organized a Central Task Force consisting of representatives from all divisions, including Human Resources, Academics, Finance, Operations, Athletics, and Communication. This group was subsequently expanded to a Comprehensive Reopening Task Force that included Central Office division heads and principals from a variety of schools. ThoughtExchange surveys were completed by parents and district employees. These surveys were followed up by additional ones designed to obtain more specific information from both groups in order to best inform the Fall plan under development. Superintendent Rodriguez also met with the district’s Teacher Forum as well as heads of School Improvement Councils to gather their opinions and concerns about reopening. Based on the feedback from all of these stakeholders, it was evident that the BCSD community would be best served by the ability to choose from two options: a traditional in-school face-to-face experience and a comprehensive virtual experience.
